Spring is in the air and grassroots films are on the screen! Jeffrey Ikahn, American Filmmaker and Director of Candy Flip, features the top film festivals screening grassroots films and other innovative projects in California this spring, April 2025:

Nothing says ‘spring’ quite like film festival season — at least, not for Los Angeles native and all-around creative powerhouse, Jeffrey Ikahn! Centered in the City of Angels, Ikahn is an icon in his own right when it comes to grassroots filmmaking on the West Coast. As a filmmaker, he is energized and inspired by the incredible works of fellow innovators in the scene. This Spring 2025, Ikahn is featuring every film festival around the world. In April, Ikahn is looking forward to an impeccable lineup of screenings at the following California based film festivals:
San Francisco International Film Festival (SSFILM)
A hallmark of film culture in the Bay Area, San Francisco International Film Festival (SSFILM) is the longest-running festival of its kind not just in the United States — but in all of the Americas! North. South. Central. This is the longest running fest for flicks in America, period. How cool is that?! As a Filmmaker who values paying homage to the classics and OGs, Ikahn always looks forward to SSFILM. Year after year, it just keeps getting better! April 17-27, 2025
San Luis Obispo International Film Festival (SLO Film Fest)
If you’re on the West Coast and in the know, chances are you will be at SLO Film Fest. And if you’re not: get on it! Jeffrey Ikahn, American Filmmaker, is looking forward to the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival. Focused on a laid-back vibe, SLO Film Fest is grassroots to the core, in the chillest way possible. If you ask Ikahn, he’ll tell you that you can’t miss it.
